Very blatantly mentions LRH and his "extensive technology" relating to education right on the front page! They apparently have no issues with relating Applied Scholastics directly with the Church of Scientology.

Currently their Global Locator section of their site is not working... will try again soon.

Apparently, at least one professor in Ohio has taken the AS courses as demonstrated by the following quote from THIS page.

I am a teacher at the Ohio Institute of Technology where we have students from all social backgrounds and educational levels. I used the methodology as laid out in the Applied Scholastics program for two quarters at the Institute and met with tremendous success. The school administration was so impressed with my results they have given me three months leave of absence and money to get more training in the technology developed by Mr. Hubbard.

Applied Scholastics is a State-Approved Supplemental Educational Service Provider according to the Ohio Department Of Education SES Provider Lookup page. Just enter Applied Scholastics in the search box and you get their listing which includes their license number, the phone number for the St. Louis office and the name G. Craig Burton as the contact. A little more research provided his TAS report.

NOTE: Ohio is one of only TWELVE states that list AS as an approved SES provider. The full list can be found in THIS post on enturb.

According to THIS page, Edward B. Jones is listed as an agent of Applied Scholastics of Ohio, Inc.
His TAS report can be found here.

Not to denigrate any form of education, but it appears that OIT was set up in 2002 to help retool workers displaced by the downsizing in manuacturing, and offers certifications in things like TV repair.

So, I would guess the threat level is low, but harpooning might be easy...
